My family is obviously very aware of my passion for documenting life. That's why when my sister found out she was pregnant with her first child, it only made sense for me to photograph it all... including the baby's birthday. Although I shoot everything in a photojournalistic style, I had never captured a birth & I was looking forward to doing so for the first time with my family. I will admit, I definitely didn't think through being in the room for EVERYTHING, but I love the results & love that we'll always have these memories to look back on. And that probably includes some things my sister does not particularly want to remember. I spent most of the labor hiding behind my camera in the corner of the room, waiting for her to scream at me to stop taking pictures of her in pain. But she never did and that (& the fact that her epidural didn't work as intended) are all part of Morgan's story & what she'll remember forever. The nurses at Broward Health's Labor & Delivery were all great to my sister & completely accepting of me working around them all day. At 12:38pm on October 20th, this world gained a beautiful, healthy baby girl & as you can see, she's already surrounded by lots of love. I can't wait to watch her grow up. <3[tg_grid_gallery gallery_id="8536" layout="wide" columns="4"]
