What happens when a photographer throws a Christmas party?! Hours of PHOTOBOOTH fun! I kept it simple - my "booth" was made up of a Nikon D90 on a tripod, a SB800 flash on a light stand with a shoot-through umbrella, a Botero collapsible grey background and my MacBookPro for viewing purposes. Add a wireless trigger for the flash, a remote control, a cord to tether the camera to the computer and a box of props from the party store... and voila! Its probably safe to assume that not many people actually read my list of photobooth rules posted in the entryway but I guess it wasn't too difficult to figure out: Stand in front of camera, press the remote to take a photo, view the photo on the screen... and repeat. The next day, I suddenly had 523 images to go through and a group of people who can't wait until the next photobooth event! As suspected, the pictures only started out fairly innocent and wholesome. Here are just a few that passed the public viewing test...

family Mini-Sessions | Fort Lauderdale Beach Photographer
Sunday's Holiday Mini-Sessions were a success! I had a nice variety of chasing around toddlers and posing adults, however I definitely underestimated the difficulty of shooting while running around in sand for hours. Exhausting but totally worth it for all these faces. Here's a few of my favorites from my last 1.5 hours of shooting...
Art Miami: Wynwood | Art Basel 2011 in Photos
For a few days every December, the artists outnumber the non-artists in Miami. Two words: Arts. Basel. If you're unfamiliar with Art Basel - its a giant art playground for people like me. In other words, its an international contemporary art fair that only happens in Switzerland and Miami. We stayed away from the convention center in South Beach and hung out in the art/design district for the day, where there were still a ton of events going on. Here's a glimpse into my day - starting at Wynwood Walls, all through Midtown and then ending at Art Miami and Red Dot...

Snowmagoodness!
So maybe you're sick of hearing about the Chicago 2011 Blizzard - I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little sick of it all myself. But here's the thing... I was born and raised in Florida. I've only been in Chicago for 4 years, meaning this is my fourth winter. Ever. Because you know what, Floridians?! Those rare "chilly" 60 degree nights in Ft. Lauderdale that force you to maybe wear pants and not shorts for the first time all year... not Winter. This is Winter. This is more than Winter. This is some crazy Winter on steroids. After the storm finally subsided Wednesday afternoon, I shuffled through 27" of snow down the middle of my neighborhood street taking in my surroundings. Here's a couple of quick shots taken around my building...
