Combining documentary photography & newborn photography seems like a no-brainer. For this momma, it meant not having to leave the house, plan anything or force the older siblings to sit still for poses, all while still capturing what life was like just 3 weeks after giving birth to their newest addition. I ended up with dozens of photos of these 2 older siblings loving on their new little brother so hard that it looks like I asked them to... but nope. All this snuggling, hugging & kissing happening was completely unprompted & judging by mom's reaction, it happens daily. Welcome to the world, baby Hank! Back in June, Rob's sister reached out to me from North Florida to purchase a gift card for her single-dad brother for Father's Day. Instead of trying to beat the crazy South Florida heat in the summer to plan an outdoor session then, we waited until a little closer to the holidays & had an awesome morning beach session in Hollywood. Sometimes my clients wake up & see clouds and maybe a small threat of rain & think it won't be a good day for photos... when in fact that makes for perfect session-weather! I couldn't have asked for a more perfect beach morning to take some photos. Max had just celebrated his 1 year birthday & was all smiles for his time in the spotlight with dad. It was great to see the bond between these two & capture some of that love into photos him & his family can cherish. It was great to meet you both! Another sweet baby boy on the blog... this time, just 12 days new! I'll be honest, when mom, Valerie, contacted me to tell me baby #3 was on his way, it had felt like no time had passed at all since I photographed her second baby at their home in Jupiter. But 12 days after sweet baby Parker arrived, I met the family in Jupiter for another session & out ran an adorable 2.5 year old to remind me that it *had* been a while since we last saw each other. The love both Tyler & 6-year old Gavin had for their new little brother was almost too much to handle. Faster than I could even get my camera out of my bag, the 2 big brothers swarmed to their brother, gently petting him, kissing him & looking at him like he was the best thing in the world. Congratulations to the entire proud family!!

And just like that, my baby fever has returned. Meet Jack. At the time of our session, he was just 18 days new. His parents graciously allowed me into their home to capture some of that brand-new-baby-goodness & I could not stop swooning at his cuteness. I mean, just look at those lips! And toes! And fingernails! (Okay, okay, I'll stop). One of my favorite parts of the morning was the way the brand new Mom & Dad looked at their son... and how he looked at them in return. My photography-love-affair started with this amazing family a few years ago, when little Avery was first born. Over the last 3 years, I've had the privilege to not only see her grow up into a beautiful little girl, but also have the same opportunity to capture her little brother, Jackson, since his newborn session a year ago. Last time we got together, we were joined by 8 of their other close family members, spanning 3 generations with a big pre-holiday group session on Hollywood Beach. But being that this was their last session in their (second) baby's first year package, this one was all about Jackson and his first birthday. We started the session at Tree Tops Park for some fun with their wagon, but couldn't resist continuing it in their backyard for some fun cake smash & clean-up photos! This is the third brand new baby boy to hit the blog, I feel like its been forever since I've done pictures for a baby girl. Something in the water? Its also another at-home session - I love the intimate element these home sessions can add to the photos. Tyler was born 4 weeks prior to our session, but similar to my previous newborn, he had yet to reach his due date, so he was still newborn-tiny. His big brother, Gavin (and even the family dog, Ditka) both watched over the new family addition with excitement as I took photos.

I couldn't believe it took me 3 weeks to finally get the chance to go meet baby Dylan (and see his GLOWING momma)! I was so happy to be able to capture some of the love that surrounds this new family of 3. Although 3 weeks old, Dylan's mini-session took place shortly before his expected arrival date, so he was still super newborn tiny... and his hair! His hair is SO soft (and clearly taken after his dad). Clearly he chose to sleep through most of the photos, but I had a great time. I'd love him to stay tiny forever, but I'll definitely enjoy watching him grow up!

Newborn sessions can never really be predicted. This is why it's always best to do these photo sessions at the client's home - especially when there is an older sibling involved, since they always have their own space and toys to remain entertained. It's the second consecutive January where I got to meet a brand new baby boy named Jackson (or Jaxon). Jackson belongs to this great family, whose first baby, Avery, I got to photograph, not only when she was a newborn, but also at her first birthday party and then again just this past November during my holiday mini-sessions. This day, however, was all about Jackson Phoenix - just 15 days old. Unlike his older sister who remained awake and alert during all of her own newborn photos, Jackson made himself comfortable everywhere we moved him to. It was such a great morning hanging out with a great family and their brand new addition!

Somehow an entire year has passed and I'm wrapping up this family's baby's first year photo package. Seems like just yesterday that I photographed little Jaxon at 15 days old in their home. For this session, we met on the beach, where we managed to get some sun after a cloudy and rainy morning.
