It was clear that this family (who I’ve photographed before) knew just what they were getting into with a photo session with me when they rolled up to Volunteer Park in Plantation with a wagon full of snacks & drinks. We were a full-on parade of 14 marching around the park, as I brought them on a walk, stopping for photos along the way. It had been a couple of years since the last time I got to capture this whole extended-family group , so it was great to meet the newest cousin & catch up with all before the oldest cousin is off to college!

Crafts, smoothies, Mario Kart & more... a typical Sunday morning for this awesome family & it was great to be a part of it. I guess its safe to say that these two cuties have grown up with my camera. From newborn sessions, to large family portraits, cake smashes & birthday parties... this time we decided to do something a little different: an at-home documentary session. I'm always striving to find the real moments within posed sessions at a park or beach you may have never even been to... so these take it one step further. More personal, more candid & more real life. There wasn't much of an agenda, because letting life happen results in moments like a private patio dance performance to Sia's The Greatest... or an unprompted hug for mommy or an angry drum solo... & course, lots of laughs. The snowflakes they made turned out much cuter than I had imagined - or tried to imagine when they first started, but I should have known not to question the ideas of the creative mind behind Hello Whimsy Designs. It was a stress-free, relaxed & FUN Sunday morning... and it resulted in a huge collection of real moments that made it very difficult for me to choose my favorites.It was so great to see you all again, congrats on the new house![tg_grid_gallery gallery_id="8375" layout="wide" columns="4"]

I think I say this every year around this time, but boy do I love watching families grow over the years! Its one of the main reasons I give special discounted pricing to my repeat clients. This is the 4th session I've done with this family since I moved back to Fort Lauderdale and it seems to fall on almost the exact same weekend each year - just as the weather finally gives us a break from the 90 degree sun. After doing a Fort Lauderdale beach session in 2012 and one at Tree Tops Park in 2013, we've circled back to the same great Plantation location we first met at in 2011, when Jordan, now 4, was just a little younger than Kylie is now. You might remember these beautiful blue eyes from a year ago when I took at-home newborn photos of Avery and her family. Somehow an entire year has passed and the family celebrated her 1st birthday perfectly at Plantation Woods park in Plantation, Fl. I loved the first birthday chalkboard with Avery stats and likes... and the month-by-month Instagram photos which served as the perfect decoration. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, this was Celebrate Avery Day!
